How to Add RSVP to Your Wedding Invitation for Free

How-to · Zippite

Chasing guests for a headcount over separate WhatsApp messages is one of the more tedious parts of planning a wedding. A built-in RSVP form on the invitation itself — one guests see the moment they open the link — solves most of that, and it costs nothing to add.

Why it works better than a group chat

When the reply option is sitting right inside the invitation, guests don't need to remember to text back separately, and you don't need to cross-reference three different conversations to figure out who's actually coming. Everyone's reply lands in one place, with their name, whether they're attending, and how many guests they're bringing.

Turning it on

In the invitation builder, under "Extras," there's a checkbox labelled "Let guests reply (RSVP)." Switch it on, and a reply form automatically appears near the bottom of your invitation once you publish — no extra design work needed, it matches whichever design you picked.

What guests actually see

A short form: their name, a Yes/No choice, a guest-count field that only appears if they select Yes, and an optional short message. It takes a few seconds to fill in, and there's a short thank-you message once they submit.

Where you see the replies

Every invitation comes with a private link, separate from the one you share with guests, that only you have. Open it, and you'll see a running list of everyone who's replied, how many are attending in total, and a "Download CSV" button if you want the list in a spreadsheet for your caterer or venue.

A note on timing

RSVP needs the invitation to actually be published with the short-link version (rather than the long link-only mode), since replies need somewhere to be stored. If you're not sure which mode you're in, publishing the invitation and checking whether you get a short link in the confirmation screen is the quickest way to tell.

RSVP is one toggle away on any Zippite invitation.
